January 2026 Highlights

Dr. Kalpana Gopan (President IMA Kazhakoottam) nominated as South Zone JDN Coordinator.
Dr. Kalpana Gopan delivered a talk on Women’s Empowerment at UKF College (15th January 2026).
Dr. Binoy Sasidharan gave a talk at IMA PEPS Palaghat (14th January 2026).
Officials of IMA Kazhakoottam participated at IMA district committee (14th January).
WIMA Chairperson participated at USHAS 2026 WIMA state meet at Aluvae.
Dr. Jiju Numann elected as Vice President, Kerala Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Riaz I received the Best IAP Branch in Kerala

WIMA Kazhakoottam along with the Trivandrum Bar Association has conducted an Interactive Awareness Session along with basic thyroid screening tests at the Bar Association Hall at District Court Vanchiyoor on Thursday, 22nd January 2026 at 01:00pm.
The awareness session was welcomed and inaugurated by Adv. Muraleedharan G, Bar association Secretary and followed with the talk by Bar Association President Adv. Gopidas G
Dr Githu, WIMA Secretary gave the introductory talk about thyroid in general and also introduced the speaker of the day.
Dr. Bhavendu Presented - Thyroid Ultrasonography workshop at THYRO FACTS 2026.
Executive meeting held (January 7th 8pm at board room first floor, IMA HQ)

Meeting started at 8 15 pm. President welcomed, followed by silent prayer, flag salutation. The president addressed the meeting .

Agendas were discussed around building fund for IMA kazhakootam. Dr Sudharsanan suggested the pros and cons of being registered as separate entity as a society for the building committee, Dr Jiju Newmann and Dr. Vinita Nair expressed their opinion. Treasurer is appointed as a signatory for building committee.
Discussion for South zone WMA tentative date of August 2nd 2026 is accepted with a registration fee of rupees 500
Reception committee by Dr. Sweetline and comparing by Dr Sanjana.
Profit from the conference should go to building front.
For WIMA South zone 2026, Chairperson and Convener should be there are as signatories with a separate Bank Account and “QR Code Pay” separate from main bank account of IMA kazhakootam.
General Body decided to streamline CGP AMS and membership promotion. Vote of thanks was given by Honorable Secretary and meeting dispersed for dinner by 9:15 PM.
